This image is dedicated to Dorcas Wilson, my mother. My first memory of my mother as a person not just as my mother but as a young woman with passions and ideas of her own she was standing in our front yard. We lived in Vancouver, WA on Winkler St or maybe it was Winkler Drive I was about 3. She had been planting flower bulbs around our birch trees wearing a sweatshirt with a leaping marlin on the front. After 58 years I still see the sun, the clouds, the trowel, the blue pedal pusher pants and that sweatshirt. Hello, Mom, it’s good to see you once more.
